Disney’s Snow White remake is just shy of seven nominations at the 46th Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Awards, which “honor” the worst cinematic achievements of 2025. Snow White scored six nominations, tying the War of the Worlds remake for the most overall. Both are up for Worst Picture, along with The Electric State, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and Star Trek: Section 31. Snow White’s additional nominations include Worst Supporting Actor for “all seven articial dwarfs,” Worst Director for Marc Webb, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Combo (again for the articial dwarfs), and Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel. Smurfs, which Paramount didn’t even bother submitting for Best Animated Feature consideration at the Oscars, was also nominated for Worst Remake/Rip-off/Sequel, along with Worst Screen Combo (James Corden & Rihanna).

Rachel Zegler was spared a nomination in the lead actress category, with many critics feeling her performance as Snow White was a saving grace. More curiously “snubbed” was Gal Gadot in Worst Supporting Actress for her turn as the Evil Queen. Although many had deemed Gadot the frontrunner since last March, she reportedly didn’t even make the Razzie shortlist (via Reddit). World of Reel previously reported that Gadot had been nominated as a write-in, based on a supposedly leaked report. Gadot is absent from the official nominations lineup, however.

Disney hasn’t exactly given Snow White a push this award season. In fact, it’s not even on Disney’s FYC page. Variety published a list of all 201 films eligible for Best Picture consideration. Snow White isn’t among them. This is curious, as Snow White had a wide theatrical release. It also clearly met the Academy’s representation and inclusion standards. The most likely explanation is that Disney withdrew Snow White from consideration at the Oscars. They have no say about what competes at the Razzies, however.

While the seven artificial dwarves may mine a win from at least one of their two nominations, Snow White isn’t necessarily the frontrunner for Worst Picture. The War of the Worlds remake united the internet in dumping on Ice Cube’s effortless performance and shameless product placement for Amazon. While War of the Worlds is on another frontier of awful, perhaps Razzie voters will think it’s time for a live-action Disney remake to win the top (or bottom) prize. Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio was nominated for Worst Picture in 2023, but it lost to Andrew Dominik’s Blonde.

Whether or not Snow White wins the Razzie, Disney remakes will have plenty of other opportunities. The live-action Moana will release later this year. A live-action Tangled remake is also in the works, along with a Lilo & Stitch sequel and a live-action Gaston film (because, sure). Who knows? Maybe all the above will be pleasant surprises. Given the track record of these remakes, though, Snow White might not be the only one that needs to break out the Razzie polish. There’s no shame in being a Razzie winner, either. Even Alan Menken won a Razzie for Newsies, and he has it proudly displayed in his trophy case with his eight Oscars!

The 46th Razzie Awards will be held on March 14, 2026
