Arco has won the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature. Ugo Bienvenu's film won over Dog of God, Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake, and Tales from the Magic Garden. Arco, Little Amélie, and Dog of God are among the 35 films submitted for Best Animated Feature at the 98th Academy Awards. Despite being ineligible for the Best Picture Oscar, Arco is widely expected to make the final five for Best Animated Feature following its nominations at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards, as well as its win at the National Board of Review. Arco is also currently up for five Annie Awards, including Best Feature - Independent, and has been longlisted with six other features for Best Animated Film at BAFTA.
At the EFAs, Arco was additionally nominated for the European Young Audience Award. While it lost that prize to Greta Scarano's Siblings, Arco's win in the animated feature category bodes well for its Oscar chances. Flow notably won the European Film Award last year on its way to claiming the Oscar. Arco is among Cartoon Contender's Oscar predictions for Best Animated Feature, as is Elio, KPop Demon Hunters, Little Amélie, and Zootopia 2. Check out our predictions in every Oscar category here.
