The winners for the 78th Writers Guild of America (WGA) Awards have been announced. In the Television Animation category, Mehar Sethi won for the Long Story Short episode, "Shira Can’t Cook." Long Story Short is the latest animated series from BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. BoJack previously won three WGA Awards for the episodes "Stop the Presses," "Time's Arrow," and "Xerox of a Xerox." Bob-Waksberg was also an executive producer on Lisa Hanawalt's Tuca & Bertie, which won in 2021 for the episode "Planteau." Tuca & Bertie was notably the first freshman series to ever win in this category, while Long Story Short is now the second. Long Story Short, which combines family drama, absurdly relatable comedy, and shifting time periods, beat out three past WGA winners: The Simpsons, Futurama, and Bob's Burgers, as well as The Great North
