Netflix’s Long Story Short has won the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Animation. From creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Long Story Short chronicles the lives of the Schwooper family, jumping between years as we see them deal with marriage, growing pains, and loss, mixing the depth and surreal comedy we’d expect from the same man who brought us BoJack Horseman. Although the Television Critics Association has been presenting these awards since 1985, this marks the first year that they’ve introduced a category for animation. The Simpsons previously won the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy in 1990, although animation has otherwise mostly been a blind spot beyond youth programming categories.
