The Hollywood Creative Alliance have announced the winners for the 2026 Astra TV Awards. The second season of Hazbin Hotel won Best Animated Series, triumphing over heavy hitters like South Park and Invincible. Vivienne Medrano's hit musical series picked up an additional award for Stephanie Beatriz (Vaggie/Vaggi) in Best Supporting Voice-Over Performance. Best Lead Voice-Over Performance went to Seth MacFarlane in the Ted TV series. Witch Hat Atelier also worked its magic on voters, conjuring a Best Anime Series win.

This year's winners spotlighted animated shows that have gone largely overlooked at the Emmys. Despite its passionate cult following, Hazbin Hotel has yet to receive an Emmy nomination for its animation, music, or voice work. Ted's enormous numbers for Peacock didn't translate to any Emmy nominations either. Witch Hat Atelier wasn't submitted for Emmy consideration this year, although the TV Academy generally overlooks anime. It may be time for the Emmys to introduce a category for anime, just as the Astras and Annies have. 

In any case, the HCA is recognizing some serious blindspots on the TV Academy's radar.
